Team 2839 (The Daedalus Project)

Team 2839, The Daedalus Project, is located in Escondido, CA, and began its rookie year at the beginning of 2008. Our rookie year was very successful, winning the Highest Rookie Seed Award and Rookie All Star Award at the 2009 San Diego Regional, as well as the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award at the 2009 Arizona Regional. This year, we plan to compete at the 2010 San Diego Regional, as well as the 2010 FIRST Championship in Atlanta.

Team 2839 consists of about twenty students and mentors.  Five of these students have been a part of the robotics team since the team was first created, designing logos, setting up presentations, and establishing a business from the ground up.  Thirteen students have sacrificed their social lives and hours of homework time to design and fabricate a robot.  There are five mentors that help with the team, four from Abbott Labs and one from BAE Systems, and none of our progress would be possible without their knowledge and dedication to the team.  Two honorable volunteers have helped the marketing aspect of Team 2839 by aiding in the team's safety animation, team video, and photography.
